Create Your Legacy at Gore Place

Christopher and Rebecca Gore couldn’t have imagined the legacy they were leaving for future generations.

When they built a beautiful home and established a flourishing farm in the Waltham countryside, the Gores didn’t know that, more than 200 years later, it would be an invaluable community resource. A place for people of all ages and from all walks of life to learn, to enjoy the outdoors and to appreciate art and history.

When you make a planned gift — of any size — to Gore Place, you know exactly the legacy you are leaving. By including Gore Place in your estate plan, you are ensuring that our community can continue to enjoy this special place for generations to come.

Make supporting Gore Place part of your legacy with a planned gift.

Making a Bequest Through Your Will or a Gift From Your Revocable Trust

How It Works

  • Add a bequest to Gore Place through a codicil to your will.
  • Include language in your revocable trust to leave a gift to Gore Place at your passing.
  • Notify Gore Place of your intent.
  • At your death, your executor (bequest in will) or trustee (gift from trust) will ensure that your charitable gift is completed.

How You Benefit

  • Flexibility: You may alter your bequest or trust designation at any time.
  • Tax Savings: Your gift will reduce the size of your estate that may be subject to estate taxes.
  • Recognition: You will become a member of the Christopher and Rebecca Gore Society. As a member, you will receive invitations to a private reception and additional events plus recognition in our annual report.

Types of Bequests

  • Cash Bequest: In your will or trust, you designate a specific dollar amount for Gore Place
  • Residuary Bequest: You designate a percentage or the remainder of your estate for the benefit of Gore Place.
  • Retirement Plan: Name Gore Place as a beneficiary of your IRA or employer-sponsored retirement plan.
  • Life Insurance: Name Gore Place as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy
  • Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is available to beneficiaries of IRA’s and other qualified retirement plans, who are over age 70½, and are taking their Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). Note the RMD has been suspended for 2020 so you should confer with your advisor to see if this makes the most sense for 2020.
